Kyrene is an Occupational Therapist who has a passion for working collaboratively with clients of all ages to achieve the goals they need, have, or want to achieve. Through the use of a person-centered, evidence-based, and holistic approach to practice, Kyrene is committed to providing support tailored to each individual and their family to achieve their optimum way of living.
Kyrene completed her Occupational Therapy degree through The University of Sydney. Kyrene has broad experience working in the disability and aged care sector, from a variety of funding sources such as NDIS, Medicare, DVA, and HCP funding. Kyrene has worked in both hospital and community settings and has a particular interest in intellectual disability, sensory integration, neurological rehabilitation, and mental health. Other relevant experience also included working in injury management, and Work Health & Safety (WHS). In addition, Kyrene is a Research Assistant as part of the Falls After Stroke Trial (FAST) research project, a research collaboration between Macquarie University, The University of Sydney, and the University of Canberra providing LiFE (Lifestyle-integrated Functional Exercise -- an evidence-based fall prevention intervention program to post-stroke participants.
Kyrene is dedicated to ongoing learning and professional development to ensure her clinical skills and knowledge stay current and relevant. Kyrene is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia (the professional association for OTs in Australia). Kyrene is fluent in Tagalog, enjoys gardening and swimming, is a mother to two teenagers, and is a pet mum to a trio of feline CEOs running her household.
